Blacks and whites come together to talk — and hear — about loss,
race and the damage of gentrification
The Oregonian invited 16 people to share their experiences amid gentrification in inner-North and Northeast Portland, for decades home to the black community. All have participated in the city-sponsored Restorative Listening Project in which blacks have told their stories to mostly white audiences to increase understanding. Their comments represent their own perspective and were edited for brevity. We invite you to share your own comments and experiences below.
