The Egyptian Club — or, the E Room, that is — is an unlikely spot for a political party. It's smokey, the normal habitat for video poker and wet t-shirt contests. On Tuesday night, the owners ushered out the smoke, turned off the karaoke machines, and drowned the place in confetti. With West Virginia returns broadcasting a Hillary Clinton win, the Southeast Portland lesbian club geared up for an official Clinton campaign party. Little Shop of Horrors star Ellen Greene and out singer Sophie B. Hawkins entertained. "Do you feel the mountain of Hillary in here?" Hawkins asked. The screaming and clapping said they did.
