At Hillary Clinton campaign headquarters in Astoria, volunteer Jean Dominey says she likes to talk to people on the street because she knows everyone. She taught school in Astoria. She says she is never rude to people, she just likes to chat them up about Hillary Clinton. And, that's not it. To spruce up the otherwise white walled office on Commercial Street, she swept the floors of cement dust, brought a red checkered tablecloth to place underneath a vase of flowers and made tiny green tree cutouts to highlight Clinton's environmental policies.

Outside the office, Sara Jane Welch holds a Hillary sign high into the air. Cars and trucks pass by, some honking their support, some yelling less appreciative comments. Welch enjoys the time outside even when the street isn't busy and says that volunteering has been a great outlet for her political passions. Clinton has motivated her to be more involved in this race than any other in her lifetime. "She's not just any woman," Welch says, "she's Hillary Clinton. She really rocks."
